My Lighthouse
Conditions were favorable; it seemed like a good day to sail. So, I trusted that the weather would be on my side.
As I sailed, the wind grew strong and imposing. My boat moved from side to side. The waves crashed violently, creating a loud noise. Anxiety washed over me, and suddenly, fear set in as well.
A constant question echoed in my mind:
“How will you ever reach your destination? It is impossible for the sea to calm down. The storm is severe. It is impossible for you to spot the lighthouse.”
Those were the thoughts my mind repeated over and over. But I remembered that what is impossible for man is not impossible for the Creator, the Master of the waves and the sea.
I fixed my eyes once more on the Creator, and the peace that surpasses all human understanding came over me.
I exchanged those thoughts for the truth:
God is my strength. God is my refuge. God is my lighthouse.
And suddenly, a brilliant light appeared in my mind. My stronghold rescued me: the waves calmed, and my mind found rest in the Lord.
