Jesus is King

The King’s coronation is just around the corner.

The streets are adorned with great splendor.

The event is the main topic of coversation.

The people prepare their finest attire, eagerly awaiting the day. Precious stones are being set into the crown.

The people look forward to the coronation with anticipation, hoping their lives will improve with the arrival of the new King.

The day of the coronation arrives! The King presents Himself to the people, but in an unexpected way: He wears not a crown of gold, but a crown of thorns. He arrives not in a carriage, but riding on a donkey.

The people ask themselves, “Where is the King?” Their human understanding had expected something different; thus, they despise and reject Him. Pride prevented them from welcoming the King they had so long awaited.

They expected a king born into luxury, not in a humbleness; one who would dine with the upper class, not with sinners.

How blessed are the people who welcomed the Messiah! Yes, our King has arrived—and He is Jesus.

Revelation 19:16

“On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.”
